Abigail's Story

Our Philosophy
At 32 weeks, I came to Dr. Ayoub after concerns arose about the practice I was seeing. This is typically much later than physicians will accept new patients. However, after hearing my experiences, Dr. Ayoub welcomed me as his patient. Dr. Ayoub was so drastically different, I honestly feel as if I had two separate pregnancies. I was looking for increased continuity of care and got so much more.

There were some challenges in my labor and delivery. My contractions were not registering well on the machines. The nurses wanted to send me home. However, because of Dr. Ayoub had taken the time to get to know me as his patient, he knew that if I was in the hospital, I was likely in labor. I had been experiencing Braxton hicks and false labors for six weeks and never once went to the hospital. Had I stayed with a practice, the physicians would not have been able to put my face to my name, let alone know that I was not "crying wolf."

Once in delivery, my baby was having difficulty making the turn under my pubic bone. Additionally, the heart rate began dropping after each push. Dr. Ayoub and the nurse did everything in their power, including a few little known tricks of the trade, to help me deliver vaginally. It was because of the personal relationship, along with his knowledge and skills as a physician, that we were able to avoid a C-section.

Dr. Ayoub not only developed a wonderful rapport with me, but with my husband as well. Dr. Ayoub included my husband in every discussion, related to him as an expecting father himself and eased his anxieties along the way. This enabled and empowered my husband in his efforts to support and care for me in the pregnancy, labor and delivery processes.

Without a doubt, coming to Dr. Ayoub was the best decision I made for myself, my child and my family during the entire pregnancy. My husband and I can't wait to have Dr. Ayoub as our guide when we have our next child.
